Today comes an other sketch, I am digging on a third character the two protagonists meet regularly or hang out with, wich involve to have a complementary personality. It should be a young girl full of insane plans.
She looks too common, I should work on it soon.

Before going further with presentation, I suppose it's appropriate to show my references for that game. I hope people who like my game could have a look to those master pieces.
The first of all is the manga Yotsuba&! which one I seriously (too much!) get inspired with. As you can see, all about the girl looking and her "father" looks very similar to mine. Since its working, it's getting hard to get away from that reference.
A second reference is the crazy Jungle wa Itsumo Hare nochi Guu, a simple picture worth a long explanation
And some other obvious references like Ghibli characters (Totoro childs, Chihiro etc) and some other japanese cartoon should be mentioned, but you get the idea.

A rough concept today, a chinese market place I made to take a break during development, but the 3D resulting place is very different, smaller since I didn't find a way to have many characters without loosing framerate, and less grubby and untidy. I assume it lost of realism, but it's not what I am aiming, I prefer the game more fanciful.

Here are the first screenshots of my game taken from animation sequences, it's the opportunity to show you some characters to meet during Chilie's journey.
As you may see, I add peppers bonuses in the environment the player should collect. It gives the ability to play again or help in a few other ways.

Since the game is progressing well, I should be able to share more stuffs on the way . I don't have a lot to share about making and technical commentary because of my modest knowledges, thus its almost talking about the game content, design, pictures and news.
About the game :
- It's composed of short animated sequences and two main gameplay (QTE and reflexion) with a few variations along the way.
- The game story is simple (simple-minded ?) where you follow the adventure of a strange child and her guardian.
- Chinese language, but English text, English and French subtitles
- It should be available for IOS and Android platform, may be PC/Mac, in 2014.
For today I show you one page of a kind of "storyboard" I tried to made as a support document. It's a few hours of drawing and painting for just one page, I don't need a super continuity or perfect narration, so I will probably give up with this support and just keep my sequences in mind.

Hi,
I am working on a game concept, with simple mechanics (because of over-low programming/ cleverness skills yep!) and thus mostly focused on characters, foolish or odd situations, with short narrative sequences. I am still thinking on it but it should be a sort of mix between animated sequences and a simple reflection/calculation game.
About gameplay, I`ll not go into details because I can`t explain it in english in an understandable way, therefore, its like some QTE during a sequence, using inputs and tools to calculate and modify a value, in purpose of achieving an objective amount.
Reaching that goal number result on resuming the animated sequence, and go again with other calculation gameplay etc, until you end that short characters performance.
I know calculation is not the most innovative, imaginative and awesome gameplay, though I assume it`s an easy way to bring challenge and ask players for creativity to solve things out and rack their brains.
Here are the first few pictures showing up design and ideas.
This last picture is expected to represent a first idea of UI/sequence progression. But...lot of imagination is required to figure something out...
